Plans

Our itinerary arrived on Monday, so I have posted the general information in a box to the right of the posts.

We will leave home on the 13th to head to Denver (I cannot believe that its only five days away now). Our flight leaves DIA at 6am on Wednesday, so we'll need to arrive at the airport by 4am. We do have a stop in San Francisco. When we land in China, we'll have been on the plane less than 14 hours and have gone 6852 miles, . We will cross 13 time zones, however, so when we get to Beijing, it will be 3:35pm on the 15th, their time.

We will spend a few days touring Beijing. On Sunday the 18th, we will take a short flight from Beijing to Shenyang (Liaoning Province). The next day, we will meet our daughter. I can hardly believe its finally going to happen! WOW! We will spend until Friday afternoon in her province - meeting with government officials, doing paperwork, maybe even going to her orphanage. We will have some rough times with her those first few days as she will have left behind everything she has ever known, to come with this weird group of people who are now her family. I'm sure tears will be shed (some hers, some ours) and probably even a few tantrums (some hers, some ours) as we learn about each other.

On Friday the 23rd, we will pick up her passport (say an extra prayer) and take a four hour flight to Guangzhou. We will have medical appointments on Saturday. Then, on Monday the 26th, we will have our interview with the US Consulate at 10:30am. Tuesday, we will pick up her visa and final documents. We will catch a flight from Guangzhou to Hong Kong on Wednesday morning (less than an hour in the air) and then, at 12:50pm, we will depart Hong Kong for the States.

If all goes smoothly, we will be on the ground in Denver at 2:26pm on the same day. We'll have crossed back over those 13 time zones and so, not even three hours will have passed in spite of being on the plane for 13.67 hours and flying 7869 miles from Hong Kong to Denver.

Its starting to fall into place now and hopefully, the lose ends will start getting tied up instead of unraveling! Thanks for all your prayers and help over the past two years of our journey. Soon, we will have Little E - ElleAnna Suo - with us!
