So, what do you think of the new colors and lay-out of the blog? I am still tinkering, but believe that the pix of the kids with Grampa looks really good on here... Let me know your thoughts and suggestions. Feel free to share our site with others.

My Withdrawals
Yes, I gave up Facebook for Lent. Can you believe it? Me - who plays FarmTown, FarmVille, CafeWorld, and Island Paradise faithfully? I won't know what's going on in any of my friends or family's lives without reading their status lines. The invitations to parties and other gatherings will be lost to the dark as I won't get them without Facebook mail. I will be clueless about my own children's girlfriend situations if I cannot see their relationship status. But, you know what, life will go on. I intend to use the time to focus more on communicating in REAL LIFE with my kids and family. I hope to get some tasks crossed off my to do list that have been there far to long. My calendar will lack events such as "harvest yellow melons" or "serve strawberry cheesecake", but that will be ok. God gave His son for me, I can surely give up Facebook for a few weeks.

Game Day Attire
On game days, the boys are supposed to dress up - wearing ties even a lot of the time. Elle has become very jealous of the neckties. We did find her one of their old "clip on" ones that they wore when they were little. She wore it to school that day herself - I'm sure that all the teachers thought she was nuts in her Snoopy T-shirt and bright blue necktie, but she was proud. She is wearing a scarf in this photo because we told her that it was pretty close to a tie. Sometimes she believes us, but, most of the time its the necktie that she wants...
Pix of Action in the Stands
We spend half of our winter watching basketball games. Can you tell? Sometimes, it has been three evenings a week. We get what I fondly call "bleacher butt". Our suppers consist of popcorn, a pop, and a bag of M and M's (or E and E's as Elle used to call them). But, the best part is that we get to spend our time with family - multi generational. We spoil Baby Griffin, yell at the refs (who have been especially difficult this year), dress Elle's dolly in the new clothes that Granny delivers to her at the games, and cheer on our favorite team. Sometimes we win, sometimes we lose, but its always a good time.
Freshman/C-Team Tournament
Alex had a basketball tournament over Christmas vacation also. Its supposed to be Freshman/Sophomores only, essentially a C-Team match up to give younger high school students some more playing experience. Unfortunately, SOME SCHOOLS play upper classmen, who we have since learned, also play on their A-Team squads. We played clean, but got second place. The other team who used "other players" got first... Oh well, life isn't always fair, but I am proud to be affiliated with a team who plays by the rules.
